How to Choose: Elections 2016

So, as most people know, this is an election year in the U.S.. Any person who is a citizen in the states and is registered to vote should most definitely vote. I’ve asked around and one answer I’ve received as a reason that someone would not vote is that they do not know who to vote for.

This makes sense, especially this year with so many candidates. But, it is not an excuse to avoid participating in a voting process that will affect lives around the world. Not every person has the time to follow every debate and every appearance and every article that discusses the candidates and what they ate for lunch. So there is the issue.

Because of this, I have found an easy way to match a person to a presidential candidate that they share interests with and therefore a candidate that they can consider voting for.

The site isidewith.com is a quick and easy way to find out what candidate supports your views the most. The site has information on each candidate and their policies along with sources. There is also basic information for different issues that are going on currently.

The process is easy – you answer different sets of questions according to different political areas and then the system matches you with candidates and shows you their answers compared to your answers. Pretty simple, right?

It’s important to know what is going on in the world around you so if you have ten minutes, you should take a look. That’s what nugget says.

4 Things You Didn’t Know You Needed For College

There are lists upon lists that tell you what to pack when you’re moving away for college. It probably has its own category on pinterest. But there are a few things that these lists don’t usually mention. And there are another couple of things that are even supposed to be *BaNnEd* that might shock you. So here’s a list of 4 things that you didn’t know you needed for college.

 1. Extension Cords

Surprisingly, most campuses have a policy against extension cords and having them in the dorms. But, in reality, they are very practical and useful and you probably won’t get in trouble for having them.

 2. Crockpot

If you are a responsible human being and can handle things that get hot, a crockpot is a great way to make a dorm feel more homey. There are tons of easy recipes that require almost no skill to make and taste way better than any cafeteria food. These are usually banned as well, but I won’t tell if you don’t.

 3. Shelves

Most dorms don’t have enough space to put everything, so bringing some of your own shelves can be really helpful. These are usually pretty cheap and easy to put together.

 4. Real Silverware

Buying a few real forks, spoons, and knives will actually end up saving you money and being much easier to deal with. I went through so many plastic utensils first semester that I decided to buy some that I could just wash in my sink and keep using. It’s working out pretty well so far.

Every person’s experience is different, but from my experience so far, these things have been really helpful. But that’s just what nugget says.

Quote of the Day

Paint, Sip,Create

We came. We painted. We conquered. Or at least I think that’s what happened.. A new sensation hit and spread like wildfire – painting classes with a bar.

In most ‘big cities,’ there are studios and galleries that offer classes that you can sign up for and create your very own take-home canvas painting. The classes are led by a main artist who does the painting up front for everyone to see and there are a few other artists who roam around and will answer questions and give helpful tips. The main point of these classes, though, is that they are fun. Any age or skill level is welcome. And to make it even better, you can bring your own snacks or order drinks at the bar.

There are tons of different paintings to choose from when signing up for a class and when you get to class, you’re allowed to do whatever you want. Every instructor I’ve had so far has made a point to say that you are more than welcome to use whatever colors you want or to even paint a completely different painting than the one that the artist is going to be doing.

Any date night, girls night out, bachelorette party, etc., would perfectly fit into everything that these painting classes have to offer. We went to Pinot’s Palette in OKC and had a great time, so find a class near you and paint and sip till your masterpiece is complete, that’s what nugget says.

Knock’s Wheelhouse

Hidden treasures are the best treasures if you ask me. Bricktown, Oklahoma is full of them. The area is up and coming and loaded with new places and chill vibes. Knock’s Wheelhouse is a perfect example of the pull for a younger crowd. The pizzeria makes its own crust, sauces, and cheeses and offers a whole slew of different drinks to go along with it. There are a few other things on the menu as well, but if I’m being honest, you’ll be too full from inhaling an entire pizza to order any of them.

Besides creating the best pizza I have ever eaten, the atmosphere was really enjoyable. There were no T.V.’s, just walls that you could write on and a couple of games of bean bag toss in the corner. There was also some Indie art placed around. There was a large seating area in the back, but also a bar up front that had a view of the canal and boardwalk right outside.

My mission includes eating in as many cool food joints as I can and so far my mission has started off with a bang at this fun find, at least that’s what nugget says.
